Cookie Policy

Our Approach to Cookies

CompressLocal is designed around privacy. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or any cookies that identify you personally. This page explains the minimal browser storage we use and why.

What We Do Not Use

  • Advertising or remarketing cookies
  • Third-party tracking cookies (e.g. Facebook Pixel, Google Ads)
  • Session cookies that identify individual users
  • Cookies that persist across sessions for analytical user profiling

Functional Browser Storage

CompressLocal may use localStorage (a browser-side storage mechanism, not a cookie) to remember your preferences between visits, such as your last-used compression quality setting. This data:

  • Never leaves your browser
  • Is not shared with any third party
  • Can be cleared at any time via your browser settings

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate page traffic (e.g. total visit counts). No individual user data or persistent identifiers are collected or stored.

Third-Party Services

Our hosting provider may log standard server request data (IP address, timestamp, URL). These logs are governed by the hosting provider's own privacy policy and are used solely for security and abuse prevention.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data through cookies, there's no personal data to access, rectify, or delete on our end. You can always clear your browser's local storage via your browser settings (Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data).
