CompressLocal is architected to collect zero personal data. Your files are processed entirely inside your browser and are never transmitted to our servers — because we have no server infrastructure that handles file data.
Files and Documents
All file processing (image compression, PDF compression, format conversion) is performed using browser-native APIs (Canvas API, FileReader API) and WebAssembly modules that execute on your local device. No file content, metadata, or file names are transmitted to any server at any time. You can verify this using your browser's developer tools: open the Network tab and observe that no file upload requests are made during compression.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting analytics (such as page view counts without user-level tracking) to understand aggregate usage patterns. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Cookies
CompressLocal does not use tracking cookies. We may use functional cookies to remember user preferences (such as quality settings) if you opt in. These cookies never leave your browser and are not shared with third parties.
Third-Party Services
Our website is hosted on a CDN. Standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL) may be retained by our hosting provider in accordance with their privacy policy for security and abuse prevention purposes.
GDPR Compliance
